User Plane Delay Budgeter
A microsecond-resolution hardware timekeeper in the user plane that tracks and enforces per-hop packet latency budgets to guarantee deterministic delivery.
Technical Explanation
For extreme HRLLC and DetNet services, packets must arrive within strict latency deadlines (e.g., 500 microseconds). The User Plane Delay Budgeter stamps every packet with an ingress timestamp and remaining time budget. As packets traverse routers and UPFs, each node decrements the budget based on local queuing delay. If a packet is approaching its deadline, intermediate nodes bump its priority to preempt all other traffic.
