Radio Resource Fabric

Ubiquitous Disaggregated Air Interface Resource Pooling

Abstracted pool of all distributed antenna elements, spectrum bands, and edge compute units across a city operating as a single unified radio.

Technical Explanation

In 6G, the traditional concept of an isolated 'cell site' disappears. The Radio Resource Fabric abstracts every rooftop antenna, indoor RIS tile, streetlamp micro-radio, drone transceiver, and satellite payload into a single fluid, programmable electromagnetic fabric. When a user requests data, the fabric weaves an individualized spatial beam using whichever distributed radio points and computing units are closest and least congested.

Key Functions

  • Unifies all urban antenna elements and spectrum into a single virtual pool
  • Weaves dynamic spatial beams moving seamlessly with mobile users
  • Eliminates inter-cell interference through global coherent coordination
  • Optimizes power consumption by activating only the precise radio points required
