Technical Explanation
In classical cellular architectures, the user equipment (UE) connects to a predetermined cell tower. In 6G Cell-Free Massive MIMO, there are no fixed cell boundaries. Under Terminal-Centric Cell-Free Association, the handset measures channel quality to dozens of surrounding distributed radio units (AP/D-RUs) and actively selects an optimal serving cluster that moves with the user, ensuring completely uniform throughput with zero handover dropouts.
