Phase Noise Canceler

Hardware-Assisted Carrier Phase Tracking

Digital signal processing and Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) algorithms that track and eliminate local oscillator phase jitter in Sub-THz transceivers.

Technical Explanation

Generating clean carrier frequencies at 150-300 GHz requires multi-stage frequency multipliers that amplify local oscillator phase noise. This phase jitter randomly rotates received constellation symbols, destroying high-order modulation (like 64-QAM or 256-QAM). 6G Phase Noise Cancelers deploy dedicated Phase Tracking Reference Signals (PTRS) embedded into every OFDM symbol, paired with machine learning Kalman filters that track and cancel phase jitter in real time.

Key Functions

  • Real-time tracking and cancellation of high-frequency local oscillator phase noise
  • Dedicated 6G Phase Tracking Reference Signals (PTRS) embedded in physical frames
  • Enabling high-order modulation (64-QAM, 256-QAM) in Sub-THz frequency bands
  • Deep learning Kalman filters predicting non-linear oscillator drift and thermal jitter
  • Mitigating inter-carrier interference caused by common phase error (CPE)
