Technical Explanation
In 5G NR, Subcarrier Spacing (SCS) scaled from 15 kHz up to 120 kHz for FR2 mmWave. At Sub-THz frequencies (100-300 GHz), hardware oscillators experience extreme phase noise that destroys narrow subcarrier orthogonality. 6G introduces Extreme SCS numerology (scaling to 240 kHz, 480 kHz, 960 kHz, 1.92 MHz, and 3.84 MHz). This broad SCS shortens symbol duration to sub-microsecond levels, making the waveform immune to local oscillator phase noise.
