Micro-DNS Resolver
Ultra-Low Latency Embedded Edge DNS
A lightweight DNS resolver embedded directly inside roadside base stations that resolves domain names to local edge compute IPs in sub-microseconds.
Technical Explanation
Traditional DNS lookups traverse public internet hierarchies, consuming 20-100 milliseconds just resolving an IP address before a connection can begin. The 6G Micro-DNS Resolver runs directly inside the base station software stack. It maintains an instant cache of all localized edge microservices, resolving domain names (e.g., 'local-collision-avoidance.edge') in under 100 microseconds, ensuring instant connection initiation for high-speed vehicular apps.
Key Functions
- Resolving edge domain names in sub-100 microseconds directly at the base station
- Eliminating multi-roundtrip external DNS traversal delays for local edge applications
- Dynamic geographical IP mapping returning the closest edge server instance to moving users
- Cryptographic DNSSEC validation verifying record integrity against cache poisoning
- Seamless integration with 6G Core Edge Configuration Server (ECS) discovery tables
