Technical Explanation
Streaming multi-view 3D volumetric video to heterogeneous devices (smartphones, 8K TVs, lightweight AR glasses) would normally require servers to store and stream dozens of pre-encoded video formats. The In-Flight Transcoder runs inside intermediate In-Network Computing (INC) switches. As an 8K video stream flows through the network, hardware video engines on the switch transcode the stream in-flight to 1080p for a smartphone or extract a 2D viewport for an AR headset with zero latency.
