Technical Explanation

Free-Space Optics (FSO) uses infrared laser diodes (typically 1550 nm eye-safe wavelengths) focused into razor-thin optical beams. In 6G, FSO connects cell towers across urban rooftops, links ground stations to high-altitude platform aircraft (HAPS), and forms the inter-satellite laser mesh in orbit, delivering 100 Gbps to 10 Tbps bandwidth per laser beam with zero licensing fees and zero RF interference.
