A session management capability that predicts optimal user plane anchor points based on anticipated user travel routes to minimize data path length.
Technical Explanation
In mobile networks, user traffic is anchored at a specific UPF. As users travel far from their initial anchor, traffic routes back through suboptimal 'hairpin' paths to the original anchor, adding unnecessary latency. The Context-Aware Session Anchor analyzes vehicular GPS routes and commuter habits. It dynamically re-anchors the user plane to upcoming edge servers ahead of the vehicle, guaranteeing that traffic always takes the shortest possible physical fiber path.
