Compute-First Networking / Compute-Aware Traffic Routing

A dynamic routing protocol that routes user requests simultaneously based on network path latency AND real-time computational load on target servers.

Technical Explanation

Traditional IP and BGP routing only consider network path distance or bandwidth, frequently routing users to overloaded compute servers simply because the network path was shortest. 6G Compute-First Networking (CFN) integrates compute telemetry (CPU load, GPU availability, memory capacity, queue depth) into routing header advertisements. The 6G core routes incoming XR and AI workloads to the optimal server based on combined network latency plus compute execution time.
