NWDAF 2.0
6G Distributed Real-Time Network Data Analytics Function
The evolved analytics engine for 6G coordinating federated learning models and real-time inference across edge clouds and radio units.
Technical Explanation
5G NWDAF provided centralized, periodic statistical analytics. 6G NWDAF 2.0 is a distributed, real-time intelligence plane that coordinates federated learning across thousands of mobile edge nodes. It continuously aggregates encrypted gradient updates, detects micro-burst congestion anomalies, predicts radio channel degradation, and programs proactive handover triggers directly into base station schedulers.
Key Functions
- Coordinating federated model training across distributed base stations and edge servers
- Real-time streaming telemetry analysis with sub-millisecond anomaly detection
- Predictive mobility profiling and proactive beam preparation for high-speed users
- Cross-layer energy consumption modeling to power down underutilized RF elements
- Publishing model inference APIs to third-party enterprise slices via standardized endpoints
