Technical Explanation
While peak speeds grab headlines, real-world experience depends on the cell-edge data rate. 5G specified a user experienced data rate of 100 Mbps. 6G raises this standard to 300 Mbps to 1 Gbps available everywhere (95th percentile coverage). By employing Cell-Free Massive MIMO, intelligent reflecting surfaces (RIS), and dual connectivity across low-band, mid-band, and satellite layers, 6G eradicates dead zones and cell-edge performance dropoffs.
