Packet Detection Rule

PFCP rule in UPF specifying match criteria (source interface, IP filters, QFI) to classify incoming packets.

Technical Explanation

A Packet Detection Rule (PDR) is the entry point for user plane packet processing in the UPF. It contains Packet Detection Information (PDI) specifying: Source Interface (Access, Core, SGi-LAN), Tunnel Endpoint ID (TEID), Network Instance, and 5-tuple IP packet filters. When a packet matches a PDR, associated FAR, QER, and URR rules are executed.
