maxRetxThreshold
Maximum RLC Retransmission Threshold
Maximum allowed retransmissions for an RLC PDU; exceeding this threshold triggers Radio Link Failure (RLF).
Technical Explanation
Configured in RLC-Config as values in {t1, t2, t3, t4, t6, t8, t16, t32}. If a single RLC PDU is retransmitted maxRetxThreshold times without success, the RLC entity concludes that the radio link is irrevocably broken and notifies RRC to declare Radio Link Failure (RLF) and initiate connection re-establishment.
Key Functions
- Caps maximum ARQ retransmissions for unacknowledged data packets
- Prevents infinite retransmission loops over dead radio channels
- Triggers Radio Link Failure (RLF) indication to RRC layer
