LDPC Base Graph 1

Low-Density Parity-Check Base Graph 1

High-rate LDPC matrix optimized for large transport blocks (TBS > 3824 bits) and multi-gigabit throughput.

Technical Explanation

3GPP replaced LTE Turbo codes with LDPC codes for 5G data channels. Base Graph 1 is designed for high coding rates (R > 0.67) and large block sizes up to 8448 bits. It utilizes quasi-cyclic parity-check matrices enabling highly parallelized hardware decoding engines achieving multi-Gbps decoding throughput.

Key Functions

  • Decodes large transport blocks exceeding 3824 bits up to 8448 bits
  • Optimized for high code rates (0.33 <= R <= 0.95)
  • Supports ultra-high throughput parallel decoding with low latency
