Technical Explanation
Optical Wireless Communications (OWC/LiFi) offers multi-gigabit speeds using light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and laser diodes without consuming radio spectrum. The UE optical-radio hybrid transceiver integrates miniature high-speed avalanche photodiodes (APD) into the phone glass alongside standard sub-THz RF transceivers. The baseband dynamically bonds optical downlink beams with radio uplink carriers, delivering terabit indoor speeds while freeing up RF spectrum for outdoor mobile users.
