TSN-6G Profile (IEEE 802.1Q)

Seamless Deterministic Ethernet and Cellular Bridging Specification

Standard enabling 6G wireless networks to act as transparent, deterministic IEEE 802.1 TSN bridges for industrial machinery.

Technical Explanation

Modern automotive manufacturing lines and power substations run on deterministic wired IEEE 802.1 TSN Ethernet. The TSN-6G Profile models the entire 6G radio, gNB, and 5G/6G core as a single virtual IEEE 802.1Q TSN bridge. With microsecond time synchronization (IEEE 802.1AS) and cyclic scheduling, industrial robots and PLC controllers plug into 6G wireless nodes without rewriting a single line of legacy factory software.

Key Functions

  • Bridges deterministic IEEE 802.1 TSN Ethernet streams seamlessly across 6G wireless
  • Synchronizes network clocks with sub-microsecond precision (IEEE 802.1AS)
  • Enforces scheduled traffic isolation via Time-Aware Shapers (IEEE 802.1Qbv)
  • Replaces physical industrial cables with wireless links with zero packet jitter
