Sub-Microsecond Packet Delay Variation Requirement for 6G

Guarantee that packet arrival time variation across the network does not exceed 1 microsecond for time-sensitive industrial synchronization.

Technical Explanation

In modern cyber-physical automation (such as printing presses, robotic welding, and electrical sub-station synchrophasors), high throughput is meaningless if packets arrive with fluctuating delay (jitter). The 6G deterministic jitter bound guarantees that packet arrival variation remains strictly below 1 microsecond. This is achieved via IEEE 802.1 Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) integration and synchronous cyclic queuing and forwarding (CQF) across the 6G user plane.
