Technical Explanation
Sidelink enables devices to communicate directly with each other over the PC5 interface. In 6G, Sidelink is upgraded with Sub-THz frequencies, full-duplex operation, and cooperative multi-hop relaying. Connected autonomous vehicles, delivery drones, and AR glasses stream raw video, radar point clouds, and trajectory intents to nearby devices with sub-0.5 millisecond latency, maintaining vital collision avoidance even when driving through underground tunnels without cellular coverage.
