Physical Unclonable Function Hardware Fingerprint for 6G Terminals
Hardware-level security feature exploiting microscopic silicon manufacturing variations to generate unique, unclonable device cryptographic keys.
Technical Explanation
In 6G zero-trust security architectures, physical device cloning and credential extraction must be prevented at the silicon level. The Physical Unclonable Function (PUF) harnesses random, uncontrollable physical variations inherent in deep-submicron semiconductor manufacturing (e.g. gate oxide thickness, threshold voltages). When queried, the PUF produces an unforgeable, reproducible digital fingerprint that never needs to be stored in non-volatile flash memory, rendering it immune to invasive probing and reverse-engineering.
