Technical Explanation
Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC), also termed Joint Communication and Sensing (JCAS), converges radar and wireless telecom into a single hardware platform, spectrum allocation, and waveform. By analyzing reflected radio waves from transmitted communication bursts, 6G base stations and UEs can track millimeter-scale target locations, compute velocities via Doppler shifts, map 3D environmental obstacles, monitor vital signs (breathing/heart rate), and detect drone intrusions without dedicated radar hardware.
