Technical Explanation
Wireless communication has historically been half-duplex, relying on Frequency Division Duplex (FDD) or Time Division Duplex (TDD) because a transmitter's own signal drowns out incoming signals by up to 100-120 dB. In-Band Full Duplex in 6G overcomes this through multi-stage Self-Interference Cancellation (SIC) combining passive RF antenna isolation, analog multi-tap cancellation, and digital AI filtering. This doubles spectral efficiency and eliminates uplink-downlink switching delays.
