Timer T310

Radio Link Failure Timer

Timer started upon N310 consecutive out-of-sync indications; if not stopped by N311, RLF is declared.

Technical Explanation

Configured in RadioLinkMonitoringConfig (values 0ms to 6000ms, typically 1000ms), T310 gives the radio link a grace period to recover from deep shadowing or antenna blockage. If N311 consecutive in-sync indications arrive before T310 expires, the link is salvaged; otherwise, Radio Link Failure is declared.

Key Functions

  • Supervises radio link recovery during deep channel fading
  • Stops if channel recovers with N311 consecutive in-sync indications
  • Triggers Radio Link Failure (RLF) and connection re-establishment upon expiry
