Normal Cyclic Prefix has a duration of approximately 4.7 microseconds at 15 kHz subcarrier spacing (mu=0), scaling inversely with numerology (2.3 us at 30 kHz, 1.17 us at 60 kHz). It accommodates multipath delay spreads in standard urban, suburban, and rural deployments while yielding 14 OFDM symbols per slot.
