5G NR Transmission Slot
Basic transmission timing unit consisting of 14 OFDM symbols for normal CP (or 12 for extended CP).
Technical Explanation
The slot is the fundamental scheduling unit in 5G NR. For normal cyclic prefix, a slot always comprises 14 OFDM symbols. Its physical duration scales inversely with numerology: 1 ms (15 kHz), 0.5 ms (30 kHz), 0.25 ms (60 kHz), 0.125 ms (120 kHz). All physical layer channels (PDSCH, PUSCH, PDCCH, PUCCH) are scheduled on slot or sub-slot boundaries.
