Subframe
1 ms NR Subframe
Fixed 1.0 ms time division within a radio frame serving as a universal reference across all numerologies.
Technical Explanation
Every 5G subframe has a strictly constant duration of 1 ms, irrespective of carrier frequency or subcarrier spacing. It contains 2^mu slots (1 slot at 15 kHz, 2 slots at 30 kHz, 4 slots at 60 kHz, 8 slots at 120 kHz, 16 slots at 240 kHz), ensuring a standard clock reference for DRX cycles, paging cycles, and measurement periods.
Key Functions
- Maintains constant 1 ms duration across all 5G deployments
- Contains 2^mu slots depending on active subcarrier spacing
- Provides timing reference for DRX timers and measurement windows
