Initial Registration

5GS Initial Registration Procedure

The power-on attach procedure establishing user identity, authentication, and core registration.

Technical Explanation

When powered on, the UE transmits an Registration Request over N1 containing its encrypted SUCI. The AMF coordinates with AUSF/UDM to authenticate the subscriber via 5G-AKA, activates NAS ciphering and integrity protection, downloads authorized subscription profiles from UDM, and assigns a 5G-GUTI.
