FR3 Spectrum
Upper Mid-Band Spectrum (7 - 24 GHz)
Emerging 5G-Advanced and 6G frequency range (7.125 - 24.25 GHz) balancing massive bandwidth and macro coverage.
Technical Explanation
Designated by the ITU and 3GPP as 'FR3' (Upper Mid-Band or centimetric wave), this spectrum range offers gigahertz of contiguous bandwidth while achieving propagation characteristics far superior to mmWave (FR2). It is targeted to deliver multi-gigabit coverage from existing 3.5 GHz cell grid sites.
Key Functions
- Covers 7.125 GHz to 24.25 GHz centimetric wave frequency spectrum
- Offers massive multi-gigahertz contiguous bandwidth allocations
- Enables gigabit mobile capacity using existing cell tower footprints
