Fast MCG Recovery
Rel-16 Fast Master Cell Group Recovery
Rel-16 mechanism allowing a UE experiencing Master Cell Group RLF to report failure via the Secondary Cell Group.
Technical Explanation
Prior to Rel-16, if the MCG link experienced RLF in Dual Connectivity, the entire connection dropped even if the SCG link was pristine. Fast MCG Recovery allows the UE to send an MCGFailureInformation message across the healthy SCG link to the Secondary Node, which forwards it to the MN to execute fast re-establishment without service drop.

- Slashes connection recovery time from seconds down to tens of milliseconds
