Delay-Critical GBR

Delay-Critical Guaranteed Bit Rate

Specialized GBR flow with strict low packet delay budgets (5-20 ms) and Maximum Data Burst Volume ceilings.

Technical Explanation

Designed for URLLC and factory automation (e.g. 5QI 82, 83, 84, 85), Delay-Critical GBR guarantees both bandwidth and strict packet delay budgets (down to 5 ms). It specifies a Maximum Data Burst Volume (MDBV); if the application injects more data than MDBV within the PDB window, excess packets are policed.

Key Functions

  • Combines guaranteed bit rate with ultra-low 5-20 ms packet delay budgets
  • Guarantees packet delivery within budget for bursts up to MDBV
  • Engineered for factory robotics, smart grid automation, and autonomous driving
