Configured Grant Type 2

Type 2 Configured Uplink Grant

Semi-persistent uplink grant configured by RRC and dynamically activated or deactivated via DCI.

Technical Explanation

In Configured Grant Type 2, the periodic resource grid is configured via RRC (periodicity, power control), but the exact time-frequency PRBs and MCS are activated dynamically via DCI scrambled by CS-RNTI. It offers greater agility than Type 1 while maintaining grant-free low-latency properties.

Key Functions

  • Configured via RRC and dynamically triggered via DCI with CS-RNTI
  • Combines low-latency grant-free transmission with dynamic resource flexibility
  • Deactivated dynamically when periodic uplink transmission ends
