Configured Grant Type 1

Type 1 Configured Uplink Grant

Uplink transmission resource fully pre-configured by RRC, allowing immediate PUSCH transmission without DCI.

Technical Explanation

Configured Grant Type 1 provides pre-allocated periodic uplink PUSCH resources configured entirely via RRC signaling (periodicity, time/frequency allocation, MCS). The UE transmits immediately on these resources whenever data is buffered without waiting for a scheduling request or DCI grant, cutting uplink latency to under 1 ms for URLLC.

Key Functions

  • Fully provisioned via dedicated RRC signaling without dynamic DCI activation
  • Enables zero-grant instant uplink transmission for URLLC data
  • Saves control channel overhead for deterministic industrial traffic
