Auxiliary nano-power radio receivers that continuously listen for dedicated wake-up beacons, keeping the main 6G transceiver asleep until needed.
Technical Explanation
Main cellular transceivers consume substantial energy even in idle mode just monitoring paging channels. 6G integrates Wake-Up Radio (WUR) technology. Devices feature an auxiliary nano-power receiver that consumes less than 1 microwatt. The main Sub-THz transceiver remains completely powered down in deep sleep until the WUR detects a specialized radio wake-up signature from the base station, extending device battery life from days to decades.
