Quantum-Resistant Subscription Concealed Identifier
The post-quantum encrypted identity token that user devices transmit over the air interface to conceal their permanent cellular subscriber identity.
Technical Explanation
To protect citizen privacy, a mobile device must never transmit its permanent identity (SUPI) in plaintext over the air. In 5G, devices encrypted the SUPI into a SUCI using classical elliptic curve cryptography. 6G SUCI upgrades this to post-quantum lattice-based encryption (ML-KEM). The device encrypts its identity using the home network's post-quantum public key, ensuring that hostile cellular interceptors cannot identify or track mobile users.
