Core network capability where generative AI compiles and deploys customized, temporary network functions in real-time to satisfy unique application needs.

Technical Explanation

In 5G, network functions (such as the UPF or SMF) are pre-compiled software images. In the 6G Core, when an application requires an unprecedented combination of protocol features (e.g. an underwater robotic inspection needing novel telemetry packaging and quantum encryption), the core generative AI synthesizes customized eBPF (extended Berkeley Packet Filter) or WebAssembly microservices. These ephemeral functions run for the duration of the session and vanish upon completion.
