SCP 2.0
Service Communication Proxy with Mesh Pub/Sub
An intelligent message routing proxy inside the 6G control plane that executes load balancing, circuit breaking, and event-driven pub/sub messaging.
Technical Explanation
The Service Communication Proxy acts as the service mesh control plane (similar to Envoy/Istio) for 6G core functions. Rather than point-to-point HTTP connections, SCP 2.0 manages all SBI communications. It handles mutual TLS encryption, automatic retry on failure, dynamic circuit breaking to prevent cascading crashes, and event-driven publish/subscribe routing, reducing control plane cross-talk by over 50%.
Key Functions
- Intelligent routing and load balancing for all Service-Based Interface (SBI) communications
- Decentralized event-driven publish/subscribe message brokering (NATS/Kafka protocol bridges)
- Automated circuit breaking and backpressure management preventing core crash cascades
- Hardware-accelerated mutual TLS 1.3 encryption and post-quantum token verification
- Real-time distributed tracing and OpenTelemetry metrics generation for every SBI call
