Fluid Antenna Systems / Movable Antennas

Dynamically reconfigurable conductive fluid or motor-driven antennas that physically reposition their radiation point to capture optimal fading peaks.

Technical Explanation

In traditional wireless devices, antennas are fixed in position, forcing receivers to tolerate deep spatial multipath fades. Fluid Antenna Systems (FAS) utilize conductive ionized liquids (such as Galinstan or mercury) or micro-motorized antenna elements that physically slide along a linear or 2D track in fractions of a millisecond. By jumping to the instantaneous local peak of the spatial fading envelope, FAS obtains massive spatial diversity without requiring dozens of bulky, separated antenna elements.
