Enhanced Discrete Fourier Transform-Spread OFDM

The pre-coded single-carrier waveform enhanced with spectral shaping filters to maximize coverage and battery life for mobile devices in FR3 and Sub-THz.

Technical Explanation

DFT-spread-OFDM applies a Discrete Fourier Transform before subcarrier mapping to reduce PAPR. In 6G, DFT-s-OFDM is enhanced with frequency-domain spectral shaping (FDSS) and dynamic zero-padding. This further reduces PAPR down to near 0 dB, allowing compact user devices to transmit high-speed data to base stations across Sub-THz frequencies without overheating or rapidly draining batteries.
