Frequency-dependent delay line filters that dynamically advance or delay different subcarriers to keep wideband beams aligned across frequencies.
Technical Explanation
When an ultra-wideband signal (e.g., 10 GHz wide) passes through a phased array, different frequency subcarriers experience different phase shifts, causing the physical beam to fan out across space like a rainbow (beam squint). Chirped Delay Filters apply an inverse frequency-dependent time shift across the array, pre-compensating for dispersion and forcing all frequencies to focus tightly into a single spatial pencil beam.
