True Time Delay Beam Squint Mitigator

Hardware circuits utilizing analog and photonic delay lines to prevent ultra-wideband Sub-THz beams from steering in different directions at different frequencies.

Technical Explanation

When an antenna array uses phase shifters across ultra-wide bandwidths (e.g., a 10 GHz wide channel at 150 GHz), the physical angle of the beam shifts across the frequency band—a distortion known as 'beam squint'. At the edge frequencies of the band, the beam misses the target completely. True Time Delay (TTD) Beam Squint Compensators replace simple phase shifters with true time delay elements, ensuring the beam points in the exact same spatial direction across every frequency in the ultra-wide channel.
