VRB
Virtual Resource Block
Logical resource block used for data scheduling, mapped to PRBs either directly or via interleaving.
Technical Explanation
Virtual Resource Blocks (VRBs) are the logical entities assigned to a UE by the scheduler in DCI. VRBs are mapped to physical PRBs either non-interleaved (VRB n maps directly to PRB n) or interleaved (VRB blocks are permuted across the bandwidth) to achieve frequency diversity against selective fading.
Key Functions
- Provides logical resource representation for data block scheduling
- Supports non-interleaved direct mapping for frequency-selective scheduling
- Supports interleaved block-interleaver mapping for frequency diversity
