Short DRX Cycle
Short DRX Cycle Mode
Optional short sleep cycle providing faster response times before transitioning into Long DRX.
Technical Explanation
Configured via drx-ShortCycle and drx-ShortCycleTimer, the Short DRX cycle is entered immediately after drx-InactivityTimer expires. By waking up more frequently (e.g. every 10 ms instead of 160 ms), the UE minimizes latency for anticipated follow-up packets (e.g. web page assets) before transitioning into deep Long DRX.
Key Functions
- Provides rapid wake-up periodicity immediately following data bursts
- Operates for the duration of drx-ShortCycleTimer
- Balances immediate user responsiveness against battery consumption
