Long DRX Cycle
Long DRX Cycle Mode
Default extended sleep cycle maximizing UE battery life during prolonged inactivity in connected mode.
Technical Explanation
The Long DRX cycle is the primary power-saving state in C-DRX (ranging from 10 ms up to 10.24 seconds, typically 160 ms or 320 ms). The UE wakes up only once per cycle for drx-onDurationTimer. Long DRX achieves massive battery savings during background connected sessions like email push or messaging sync.
Key Functions
- Maximizes UE power savings during idle intervals in RRC_CONNECTED
- Operates with wake-up periods up to several seconds
- Serves as default steady-state DRX cycle
