Session Description Protocol
Format for describing multimedia communication sessions embedded inside SIP message bodies.
Technical Explanation
SDP (RFC 4566) describes the streaming media initialization parameters: IP addresses, port numbers, transport protocol (RTP/AVP), and supported audio/video codecs (e.g. EVS, AMR-WB, H.265) with sample rates and bitrates, enabling clean media negotiation between endpoints.

- Negotiates audio codecs, sampling rates, and transport UDP ports
- Directs UPF and UE packet processing pipelines for RTP voice streams
