RAN Notification Area Update
Mobility signaling procedure executed by an RRC_INACTIVE UE when crossing RNA boundaries or upon timer expiry.
Technical Explanation
When an inactive UE detects that it has reselected a cell outside its assigned RNA, or when periodic timer T380 expires, it transmits an RRCResumeRequest with resumeCause set to 'rna-Update'. The network updates the UE's location and responds with an RRCRelease containing updated RNA parameters.
