UL Multi-TRP PUSCH

Uplink Multi-TRP Transmission Repetition and Multiplexing

Enables a mobile user to transmit PUSCH uplink packets simultaneously or repeatedly to multiple base station towers, achieving ultra-high uplink reliability.

Technical Explanation

In industrial factories and automated ports, losing an uplink sensor packet or robotic emergency stop command can halt production lines. Rel-18 UL Multi-TRP PUSCH allows a UE to transmit uplink data using multiple spatial relations toward two distinct base station towers, achieving 99.999% uplink reliability through spatial diversity and multi-site soft combining.

Key Functions

  • Transmits identical or complementary PUSCH codewords toward geographically separate TRPs
  • Achieves five-nines (99.999%) uplink reliability for mission-critical industrial URLLC
  • Supports dynamic multi-site receiver combining across high-speed fronthaul networks
  • Mitigates severe local shadowing and physical line-of-sight obstruction
