Technical Explanation

Standard 5G smartphones must support 100 MHz in FR1 and 200/400 MHz in FR2. RedCap slashes the required RF and baseband bandwidth to a maximum of 20 MHz in FR1 and 100 MHz in FR2, drastically reducing ADC/DAC sampling rates and baseband memory footprint in wearable and industrial modems.
