QCL Type B

Quasi-Co-Location Type B

QCL assumption sharing Doppler shift and Doppler spread parameters between antenna ports.

Technical Explanation

QCL Type B indicates that two antenna ports experience identical frequency dispersion (Doppler shift and Doppler spread), but not necessarily the same delay spread. This occurs when signals originate from the same transmission point but travel through distinct multipath scattering clusters.

Key Functions

  • Shares Doppler shift and Doppler spread across antenna ports
  • Does not assume identical delay spread profiles
  • Used for frequency-offset compensation in mobile scenarios
