PUCCH Format 1

Long PUCCH Format for 1-2 Bits

Long 4-14 symbol PUCCH carrying 1-2 bits of UCI using BPSK/QPSK modulation and time-domain Orthogonal Cover Code (OCC).

Technical Explanation

PUCCH Format 1 spans 4 to 14 OFDM symbols on 1 PRB. It multiplexes DMRS and data on alternating symbols, applying a time-domain Orthogonal Cover Code (OCC) across data symbols and cyclic shifts across DMRS to achieve high processing gain and deep cell coverage.

Key Functions

  • Provides high-coverage uplink feedback for 1-2 bits of HARQ-ACK/SR
  • Spans 4 to 14 OFDM symbols with alternating DMRS and data symbols
  • Enables multi-UE code-domain multiplexing using orthogonal cover codes
