Paging Frame (PF)

Paging Radio Frame

Specific 10 ms radio frame satisfying SFN mod T = (T div N) * (UE_ID mod N) that contains paging occasions.

Technical Explanation

A Paging Frame (PF) is the exact 10 ms radio frame within which one or more Paging Occasions (POs) occur for a given UE. Parameter T is the UE's DRX cycle (e.g. 32, 64, 128, or 256 radio frames), and N is the number of paging frames configured per cycle in SIB1.

Key Functions

  • Identifies the specific 10 ms radio frame hosting the UE's paging occasion
  • Derived mathematically from System Frame Number (SFN) and UE identity
  • Synchronized across all base stations in a Tracking Area
